Benefits of Christian Life?
I'm sixty-six years old. I was raised in an authoritarian Christian household. I was a born-again Christian for most of my life. Now an atheist. What do Christians view as the benefits of Christian life? Is it the promise of eternal life with Jesus that hooks most in, or the fear of death and hell? It's become obvious there are many dark personal secrets Christians keep to protect themselves or others within their faith structure: chronic anger issues, domestic abuse, porn use, pre-marriage pregnancies, abortions. Why would anybody want to live this way?

AMA Episode: The Satanic Temple
Hi! I love the work you're up to and really appreciate the time you're putting into explaining the evangelical perspective. I grew up in a Presbyterian church and we didn't talk much about hell, demons, or Satan in my church. However, I'm realizing that even though I don't identify as Christian anymore, I'm still freaked out by the idea of Satan and demons. I really like the tenants of the Satanic Temple and the work they're doing to fight christian nationalism. I know they don't actually subscribe to the idea of Satan worship, but there's something about it that still makes me nervous. With this in mind, I have a two part question: 1) Can you give me a little primer on how the bible or churches talk about satan or demons to help me get over this fear; and 2) What are your thoughts on The Satanic Temple?
